Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English musician and singer, was born in London on 22 August 1995. She decided to sign to Warner Bros Records in 2014 after working as a model. She then launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album peaked at the number three spot at the top of the U.K. albums chart and featured eight songs, including one of them being the U.K. top-ten single New Rules and the number one single Be the One. I.D.G.A.F. Lipa has been awarded her Brit Awards in the year 2018 for British Female Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough Act. Her album has been certified as platinum throughout the world. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. The maternal grandparents of her are Bosnian. She can trace her ancestors all the way back to Peja the city of Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa, as well as an older brother called Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock group Oda. At home her father continued to play music including his personal compositions and songs composed by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa started singing around the age of five. At the age of nine she started singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has covered songs like If I Don't Have You as well as Beautiful from Christina Aguilera and posted it on YouTube. In the year 2014 Lipa had signed a recording contract to Warner Bros. Records. In August 2015, her debut single New Love came out.
