Coleman was born in Lancashire, and born in Blackpool. Coleman was head of the class of Arnold School, Blackpool and was awarded straight A's on her A levels. When discussing her character from Emmerdale Coleman expressed regret over having not attended a university. Coleman joined a theater company, In Yer Space while during her time at university. The company performed at the Edinburgh Festival for the play Crystal Clear. Along with receiving a prize for her acting, the play it performed attracted a lot of attention. Coleman got the part as Jasmine Thomas while she was auditioning at drama schools. The audition took place in 2005. Coleman got two nominations in 2007. She was named as the Best Newcomer of 2007 at British Soap Awards and Most Popular Newcomer at the National Television Awards. She was nominated as Best Actress, Sexiest Woman and Best Dramatic performance in the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman was the replacement for Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor following Arthur Darvill left the series and was to play the role alongside Matt Smith. Moffat picked her to play the role due to her being the most efficient in her interactions with Smith and spoke more quickly than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Since 1987, she's been involved in television and film projects. However, she is better popular for her television projects rather instead of films. Eva is best known for her role on the show the character Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and detective Natalia Boa Vistas on CSI Miami. The first role she played on TV earned her 2 Daytime Emmy nominations, and allowed her to develop her passion for music. Eva, in addition to acting, is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and business owner. She has been married three times, and has a daughter with her second husband.
